Put a little chill into your nightlife at the

Zoo’s premiere black-tie event

Escape your everyday life, put on your black tie and enjoy a summer night amidst the frozen tundra at Zoofari!  The BIG Chill on Saturday, June 9 at 6 p.m.

Presented by Brown-Forman and Ford, this special Friends of the Zoo event includes a gourmet meal, fabulous silent auction and live “adopt an animal” auction. You can also move your feet to the sounds of Ivory Joe as you dance in the snow, and chill out with delicious beverages at an “arctic” reception at the new Glacier Run Splash Park.

“It is going to be a great night,” Zoofari! co-chair Jerry Mason said. “I am especially excited that we are starting out with a reception at the new Glacier Run Splash Park.”

Kristen Augspurger, the other Zoofari! co-chair, reiterated the sentiment. “This is something I have been looking forward to all year! What could be better than a night of fun amongst the animals while raising money for the Zoo?”

Individual tickets are $250 and corporate tables of eight are $3,500. Proceeds raised from the event will go to the Zoo’s Glacier Run exhibit capital fundraising campaign.

Linda Solley-Kanipe, Friends of the Zoo board member, said the Friends of the Zoo organization has provided a significant amount of capital to the Zoo over the years—more than $2.5 million—and has many times acted as a catalyst to help the Zoo leverage other grant monies to help get fundraising off the ground.

 “That is why Zoofari! is important,” Solley-Kanipe said, “because it is the Friends most profitable fundraiser.”
